WVHS nips Oxford in extra innings
PREP SOFTBALL — The Water Valley Lady Blue Devils overcame bitterly cold temperatures to defeat the Oxford Lady Chargers 16-15 in the fastpitch softball opener for both teams Tuesday night at Stone Park. Courtney True drove in the game-winning RBI for the Lady Blue Devils in the top of the eighth inning, while pitcher Kelsey Kimzey secured the win in the circle after fielding a ground ball she coaxed OHS into hitting in the bottom of the frame. Water Valley’s Lady Blue Devils traveled to Mooreville Tuesday and earned a surprising 56-41 win over the Lady Troopers in the first round of the Region 2-3A Tournament. C.C. Late surge keys Devils’ win
The Water Valley boys’ basketball team overcame a slow start to post a 60-52 win over North Pontotoc in the team’s final home game of the season Thursday night.
