Chargers end season with sweep of Senatobia

Oxford’s seventh-grade football team capped another successful season Tuesday with a 26-6 win against Senatobia at Oxford High’s Bobby Holcomb Field. The victory came a week after a heartbreaking double overtime loss to Grenada, which went on to defeat Lafayette Tuesday and capture the seventh-grade Tri-Lakes Conference title. The eighth-graders also ended the year on a high note with a 40-6 win against Senatobia in the nightcap. (October 24, 2012, Page 6)

8th-grade Chargers return to form

A week of intense practices following the only loss of the season paid off in a big way for the Oxford eighth-grade football team on Tuesday. A week after suffering a disappointing 14-12 loss to Lafayette, the Chargers blanked Grenada 36-0. The victory improved the Chargers to 6-1 overall and kept them in the race to possibly win the Tri-Lakes Conference title. (October 17, 2012, Page 6)
