The 2012 season didn’t go the way Oxford had hoped, but Thursday night’s season finale provided at least a little solace for the home team.
Looking to end the season on a high note, the Lady Chargers earned a convincing 3-0 (25-19, 25-19, 25-18) victory over Corinth at the OHS gym. (September 28, 2012, Page 7A)
Oxford’s chances of making the upcoming MHSAA’s Class II playoffs were dealt a significant blow thanks to 3-1 (22-25, 24-17, 25-14, 25-18) loss to Lake Cormorant Tuesday evening in the OHS gym. The Lady Chargers won the first set before the Lady Gators rebounded to capture the next three. (September 19, 2012, Page 6)
Oxford High volleyball coach Tara Ross knows she doesn’t have a bevy of tall girls on the front line or a roster filled with veterans like she did last year. What Ross does have is a group of Lady Chargers who all get along, who like to compete and so far, have shown the ability to absorb knowledge and get better with each practice.
