Rebs’ Freeze has Richt believing in his offense
Georgia coach Mark Richt knows offense after having been a college quarterback and offensive coordinator prior to his time in Athens. He has helped produce some of the most prolific offenses in the history of Florida State and done a great job with the Bulldogs, who have had a bevy of standouts head on to the NFL. Better effort can’t save Rebels in loss
The effort was there Saturday for the Ole Miss Rebels compared to their Week 3 performance against Vanderbilt. Unfortunately for them and coach Houston Nutt, the results of that improved effort weren’t enough to produce a win.
Ole Miss fell to 0-2 in the Southeastern Conference thanks to a 27-13 setback at the hands of the Georgia Bulldogs. What the crowd of 58,042 at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium, and a regional audience watching on the SEC Network, saw was a young Ole Miss team show more fight than it did against the Commodores, but come up short on the scoreboard because of the same miscues that have haunted them all year. Richt: No doom and gloom around Dawgs
HOOVER, Ala. — Outside of the Georgia football program, the future for veteran coach Mark Richt looks unsettled and precarious to say the least.

Murray has pressure on him at UGA
There may never be a perfect time to start a freshman at quarterback in the Southeastern Conference, but for Georgia coach Mark Richt, if there was ever going to be season to do it, 2010 is the one.
Redshirt freshman Aaron Murray may never have taken a snap under center in the rugged SEC, but with 10 returners back on offense, his success rate as a starter has ultimately increased.
Richt may be looking to build on a disappointing 8-5 season with Murray leading the way on offense, but that doesn’t mean he won’t get help from a running game that is expected to be one of the best in the SEC this year. (August 27, 2010, Page 8A)
New-look UGA has high hopes
Ten offensive starters returning from last year, plus the installation of a new defensive scheme, have helped turn the Georgia Bulldogs around in the view of many prognosticators eyes heading into the 2010 season.
Georgia, under the direction of Mark Richt, always seems to have lofty preseason expectations placed on them. But after having a sub par 2009 in which the defense was much maligned and the offense grew stagnant in key situations, some changes had to be made by Richt.
The hiring of former Dallas Cowboys assistant coach Todd Grantham and his installation of a 3-4 scheme has been well received according to Richt, while those 10 returners on offense and the best punter and place-kicker in the league give the Bulldogs a lot to be excited about heading into the year.
