The members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Lady’s Auxiliary will hold their monthly meeting Tuesday at the Veterans Building at 125 Veterans Drive. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The meeting follows at 7. (April 9, 2010)
Military Order of the Purple Heart
Final nominations and election of officers for the Military Order of the Purple Heart Chapter 801 will be held Saturday. Purple Hearter’s will hold their regular monthly meeting at 1 p.m. starting with lunch followed by a business meeting and elections. All combat wounded veterans are urged to attend this important meeting. Supporting staff assisting with this meeting are Clarence Parker, Frank Warren, Donald McCord and Robert Bramlett. VFW Bingo
The VFW Post 4100 in Water Valley hosts a night of bingo Friday. The first games start at 7. Players must be at least 18 years old. (April 2, 2010)
karaoke
The VFW will host karaoke singing and dancing every Friday night at the Veterans Building across from the State Veterans Home. Doors open at 6 and singing and dancing starts at 7. Use one of their disks or bring your own. Food and drinks available. Admission is $5. The public is invited. (April 2, 2010)
Veterans Breakfast
The DAV, American Legion and the VFW will host a breakfast and some fellowship for all veterans at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Veteran’s Building at 125 Veterans Drive. Breakfast features eggs, sausage, gravy, biscuits and coffee. The Veteran’s Building is located at the corner of Veterans Drive and South Lamar Boulevard. Donations are accepted. (March 29, 2010)
