Lafayette County Board of Supervisors

The Lafayette County Board of Supervisors will meet at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Lafayette County Chancery Building to discuss various issues, including Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi’s proposal to build a new hospital. (March 14, 2011)

Oxford Emmaus, Cursillo Community

The Oxford Emmaus and Cursillo Community will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Oxford-University United Methodist Church for a potluck dinner and a program. (March 14, 2011)

Eastside MHV Club

The Eastside MHV Club of the Mississippi Homemakers Volunteers of Lafayette County will meet at 6 p.m. Monday at the home of Jearlee Goolsby, 121 CR 204. Guests and new members are welcome. For more information, call Goolsby at 234-5462. (March 14, 2011)

Oxford Planning Commission canceled

The regularly scheduled meeting of the Oxford Planning Commission which was set for today at 5 p.m. has been canceled. A new special meeting date has been set for March 29 at 5 p.m. in the Oxford High School Commons. Site plans for the new Oxford High School will be reviewed at a public hearing. The community is invited. (March 14, 2011)

American Legion

Members of American Legion Post 55 will meet Thursday. Supper and fellowship will be at 6 p.m., followed by the business meeting at 7. All Veterans are invited. (March 9, 2011)

Oxford Park Commission

The members of the Oxford Park Commission Board will meet at 4 p.m. Thursday at the OPC main office, 310 S. 15th St. (March 9, 2011)

Grief Support Group

North Mississippi Hospice will sponsor a grief support group meeting at noon Thursday at Azalea Gardens. A light lunch will be provided. For more information, call 234-0140. (March 9, 2011)

OUT Commission

The Oxford University Transit Commission will meet at 2 this afternoon in the Oxford City Hall conference room. The agenda includes the election of new officers, a discussion of the Orange Line and monthly reports. (March 9, 2011)

International Women’s Day Panel

An International Women’s Day Panel will be presented at noon Monday in the Fulkner Room on the third floor of the J.D. Williams Library on the UM campus. Hosted by the Sarah Isom Center for Women & Gender Studies in honor of Women’s History Month, the panel will be moderated by Shilpa Shirur, who holds a master’s degree in leadership and counseling from Bombay, India. She will also be a panelist. Other panelists include Hunain Alkhateb, a Ph.D. student in engineering from Jordan, and Ana Kuzmanovi Jovanovi, assistant professor at the Department of Iberian Studies, University of Belgrade, Serbia, and visiting scholar at UM. (March 4, 2011)

VFW

The members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Lady’s Auxiliary will meet Tuesday at the Veterans Building at 125 Veterans Drive. Dinner will be served at 6 p.m. The meeting follows at 7. (March 4, 2011)
