Alzheimer’s Caregiver Support Group

Alzheimer’s and Related Disorders Caregiver Support Group will meet at 7 p.m. Monday at the Azalea Gardens Assisted Living Community, 100 Azalea Drive, in Oxford. Meetings are open to all caregivers interested in those with Alzheimer’s and related memory loss disorders and provides resources and support for caring for individuals who have memory loss. Refreshments are provided compliments of Azalea Gardens. Newcomers Kickoff Party

Newcomers will gather for the annual Fall Kickoff Party at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 20 at Greystone Farms. In addition to food, music and entertainment, new officers and committee chairs will be introduced. The catered meal fee must be paid by Sept. 12. New residents in the Oxford area are welcome to join. University Dames Reception

The University Dames invites women faculty or staff, or wives of faculty or staff to its annual Newcomers’ Reception and Double Decker Bus Tour from 2:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the second floor board room of The Lyceum.

Piecemakers Quilt Guild

The Piecemakers Quilt Guild will meet at 1 p.m. Saturday in the Fellowship Hall of First Presbyterian Church. The program will be a special 9 Patch Quilt and additional quilting tips will be shared. Guests and visitors are welcome. (September 6, 2011)

American Legion

The members of American Legion Post 55 will meet Thursday at the Veteran’s Building on Veteran’s Boulevard in Oxford. Supper and fellowship will be at 6 p.m., followed by the business meeting at 7. All veterans are invited. (September 6, 2011)

Exchange Club of Oxford

The Exchange Club of Oxford will meet at noon Thursday the Ole Miss Catering site on Heritage Drive. In honor of baby safety month, guest speaker will be Katie Morrissette and Kathryn Shoalmire of Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi. (September 6, 2011)

The Lafayette County Republican Women will meet for lunch at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday in the Oxford University Club.
