Clement, Devils polish off Bruce

WATER VALLEY — A third straight complete-game effort on the mound highlighted the final game of the Water Valley Spring Break Tournament.     Ace effort from Defer lifts Blue Devils

    WATER VALLEY — Skyler Defer had a feeling he was going to pitch well and help lead the Water Valley Blue Devils to a win over Senatobia Monday night when he was warming up in the bullpen.

    What Defer may not have realized was just how well he would pitch; despite feeling as good as he did on the mound early, he would become the first on the pitching staff to record a complete-game effort this season. (March 12, 2013, Page 8)

      Bishop, Taylor lead ‘Dores past Devils

      After winning in extra innings against cross-town rival Oxford on Friday night, Lafayette coach Patrick Robey was a little worried about how his team would respond when it hosted Water Valley on Saturday afternoon.

      That worry was put to rest though as the Commodores knocked off the Blue Devils 8-1 at W.V. Brewer Field.

        Lady Trojans snap WV winning streak

        WATER VALLEY — Casey Clouse was at a loss for words Friday night as her Water Valley Lady Blue Devils had a three-game winning streak snapped by the Bruce Lady Trojans. Ineffective pitching and costly errors were at the root of Water Valley’s problems, as a 10-run sixth inning propelled Bruce to a 17-10 victory. (March 11, 2013, Page 3B)

              Four-run seventh keys WVHS win

              For six innings Monday night, the Oxford Lady Chargers led the Water Valley Lady Blue Devils 2-0 and seemed poised to win their first home game of the season.                   Trojans end Blue Devils’ playoff run

                  MOOREVILLE — The Water Valley boys’ historic run in the Class 3A MHSAA North Half playoffs came to an end on Thursday night at Mooreville gymnasium.

                    Lady Blue Devils poised for next step in ‘13

                    Casey Clouse started her tenure as Water Valley softball coach last spring. Unfortunately for her and her Lady Blue Devils, an accident during spring break sidelined her from a number of games until late in the year when the team was making a push to the MHSAA Class 3A playoffs.
