Greer leads Blue Devils past Troopers
WATER VALLEY — Three nights after being beaten soundly by Division 2-3A rival Mooreville, the Water Valley Blue Devils rebounded behind the pitching of ace Cody Greer and some of the best offense of the season.
Water Valley defeated the Troopers 7-1 Friday night to improve to 3-2 in the division and thanks to a 9-0 win over Bruce on Saturday, is 10-8 overall.
WVHS knocks off Mantachie 2-1

Russo hired to turn around IHS
Long-time Water Valley defensive coordinator Richard Russo has accepted the head coach position at Independence.
Russo, who has been on head coach Brad Embry’s staff since arriving in Water Valley in 2008, said he officially accepted the Wildcats’ position last Tuesday but just yesterday began spreading the word. (March 19, 2013, Page 8)
