          Dedicated Sanford has high hopes

In a state that puts a premium on high school football, basketball and baseball, it can be tough for athletes of other sports to get noticed by college recruiters.

Ole Miss’ women’s soccer team this past season fielded a team of 24 players with just one hailing from Mississippi.

Oxford junior Meredith Sanford is hoping to defy the odds and one day and become the first Oxford Lady Charger to play at Ole Miss. (January 25, 2011, Page 8)
