The Ole Miss QB Club will host its annual signing day meeting at the Inn at Ole Miss on Feb. 2. Tupelo high school standout P.J. Jones is considering inking with the Ole Miss Rebels come signing day.
A trio of Oxford Chargers football players are set to visit the Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns this weekend. Verbal commits DeShaun McNeal and Larry Pettis are expected to be joined by teammate Guy Cameron Billups on the trip. Ole Miss head coach Houston Nutt announced Tuesday the signing of Blinn Community College’s Philander Moore to a national letter of intent. Ole Miss may add another quarterback to the roster if former West Virginia quarterback Barry Brunetti chooses to play for the Rebels and coach Houston Nutt. The 6-foot, 200-pound Brunetti, who could enroll at Ole Miss for the spring semester, is expected to decide where he will play in the coming days. The Memphis native was the backup to Geno Smith for the Mountaineers this past season as a freshman and decided to transfer after his mother, Elna, was in a car accident this past year.
According to the (Memphis) Commercial Appeal, the decision to transfer has been brewing for quite a while now.

Ole Miss needs playmakers on offense and Alabama native Collins Moore seems to have the ability that could help the Rebels at wide receiver in the future.
The 6-foot-1, 185-pound Collins, who just got through playing for Bob Jones High School, plans to play for Ole Miss and coach Houston Nutt starting in the fall. Moore committed to the Rebels in August and has remained firmly committed ever since.
Moore is a receiver that has a knack of being able to go up and make the big catch, and Moore’s coach at Bob Jones, Kevin Rose, has been very impressed with his ability to catch the football. (December 23, 2010, Page 7A)
Former Lafayette standout baseball player Hunter Mize has signed with Blue Mountain College after playing two seasons at Northeast Community College. While at NECC, Mize hit .304 with two home runs, two doubles and 35 RBIs. He also had a .423 on-base percentage last season. (December 3, 2010, Page 9A)
Callaway offensive lineman Justin Bell gave his verbal commitment to Ole Miss over the weekend, joining teammate Aaron Morris as the Rebels’ 19th commitment for the 2011 signing class.
