Yarbrough lifts Rebs to win again

The Ole Miss baseball team hasn’t run out of its firepower. Two days after completing a three-game sweep of the reigning National Champion LSU Tigers, the Rebels scored 11 runs on 20 hits to defeat the Murray State Thoroughbreds 11-10 at Oxford-University Stadium. (April 28, 2010, Page 6)

    Chargers’ Roberson talks baseball playoffs

    AROUND THE SQUARE AND BEYOND — Bradley Roberson may not be coaching high school baseball any longer, but he still has a pulse on what’s going on in the sport and the upcoming playoffs that start on Friday.

    The Chargers played a good portion of the teams left in the playoffs, including Independence, which faces Water Valley in the first round, and Lafayette, which plays against former Region 2-4A foe Cleveland in the first round. (April 28, 2010, Page 6)

      Kennedy adds two more to 2010 class

          COLUMN — Life doesn’t always go as planned.

          In fact, more often than not our road from Point A to point B is filled with unforeseen detours.

          In sports, having the ability to adapt when things don’t go as planned may be as important as anything, and this year the Ole Miss baseball team has made a living off of reacting to the unexpected. (April 27, 2010, Page 8)

                  McCluster now a Chief; four Rebels drafted overall

                  Four Ole Miss players were drafted between the second and sixth rounds of the 2010 NFL Draft over the weekend. Running back/wide receiver Dexter McCluster was the first Rebel selected in the annual draft as he went to the Kansas City Chiefs in the second round, No. 36 overall. Offensive lineman John Jerry followed McCluster as he was selected in the third round (No. 73) by the Miami Dolphins. Both McCluster and Jerry were taken on Friday.

                    Rebels rally late to win game, earn sweep

                    As Kevin Mort’s fly ball bounced into left field, and Taylor Hightower trotted safely home, LSU outfielder Leon Landry didn’t budge from his position. The damage had been done. The No. 27 Ole Miss Rebels had just completed a three-game sweep of the reigning national champion LSU Tigers, coming from behind to beat their Southeastern Conference West rival 7-6 at Oxford-University Stadium on Sunday. (April 26, 2010, Page 1B)
