Rebels hit road to face MSU
The No. 16 Ole Miss Rebels will be looking to take their seven-game winning streak on the road beginning tonight when they travel to Starkville to face in-state rival Mississippi State.

Blue Devils open 3A playoffs with a win
Bittersweet was the word used by Water Valley coach Doug Robbins to describe his Blue Devils’ 5-3 win over Independence in their first game of Class 3A best-of-three playoff series Thursday night.
The Blue Devils (18-6 overall) used a solid, if not spectacular, pitching performance by Josh Johnson to hold the Wildcats at bay long enough for their offense to score the bulk of their runs late. (April 30, 2010, Page 7A)
Goolsby taking his bat to NWCC
An incredible ability to swing a bat coupled with improvement in the outfield has led to a new home for Lafayette’s Denzel Goolsby. Goolsby signed a scholarship offer from Northwest Mississippi Community College Thursday to play outfield and potentially hit in the middle of the lineup for the Rangers the next two years. Nettleton too much for WVHS
It was no secret that the Nettleton Lady Tigers softball team was a good team.

Mr. Complete: Smith continues transformation
When Matt Smith was a redshirt freshman at Ole Miss he was the prototypical collegiate power hitter.
Sure he hit 14 home runs, but he also racked up strikeouts like they were going out of style, finishing his first season with 80, while walking just 22 times.

WVHS teams begin 3A playoffs tonight
