Former LHS football coach dies Friday

HOOVER, Ala. — Ole Miss’ Zach Miller said on Monday he wanted the chance to play the Auburn Tigers at Regions Park during the Southeastern Conference. He’ll get his wish today. Sumrall tops WV to take series
Water Valley found out what all of Sumrall’s opponents have discovered this year as the Blue Devils dropped an 11-1 decision to the Bobcats in the second game in their Class 3A state baseball championship series at Trustmark Park in Pearl. Sumrall swept the series with WVHS to wins its third-straight state title, but Water Valley coach Doug Robbins said his ballclub had a special season in finishing second in the state for the second time in five seasons. Rebs to face Auburn in elimination game today
Ole Miss players were looking forward to the chance for a rematch with the Auburn Tigers in the SEC Baseball Tournament after getting swept by Auburn in their regular season series, and now they get that chance in an elimination game this afternoon at 3 in Hoover, Ala. (May 28, 2010, Page 6A)
Kilcrease does it again, Rebs fall to Alabama
Alabama pitcher Nathan Kilcrease may be small in size at 5-foot-6, but he’s a giant against Ole Miss as he proved Thursday in leading the Crimson Tide to a 6-3 win over Ole Miss in the Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament in Hoover, Ala.
The Rebels dropped into the losers’ bracket for a 3 p.m. game today against Auburn, while Alabama is off until Saturday in action at Regions Park. (May 28, 2010, Page 6A)
Alabama tops Rebels to remain in winner’s bracket
HOOVER, Ala. — For the second time this season Alabama starter Nathan Kilcrease has pitched into the ninth in a winning effort against the Rebels.

Day 2: Alabama-Ole Miss Game Blog
HOOVER, Ala. — Live from Regions Park in Hoover, Ala., for Day 2 of the Southeastern Conference’s SEC Tournament. Game 7 pits Ole Miss (37-20 overall) and Alabama (35-21). Great pitching, timely hitting lift Rebs past USC
Drew Pomeranz showed why he was named pitcher of the year as he threw seven shutout innings for Ole Miss in Wednesday’s opener with South Carolina in the Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament in Hoover, Ala. Reliver Brett Huber finished the game for a save and Miles Hamblin’s two-run homer in the third inning was the big blast in the Rebels’ 3-0 victory.
Ole Miss joined Alabama, LSU and Vanderbilt as opening-day winners in the tournament at Regions Park. The Rebels will play Alabama today at 4:30 p.m. The winner will get Friday off, while the loser will face the Auburn-South Carolina winner in a 3 p.m. contest Friday. (May 27, 2010, Page 6)
