Oxford High standout pole vaulter Sam Kendricks continued to shine during the indoor season over the weekend by winning the University of Kentucky High School Invitational with a leap of 15 feet, 6 inches.
Kendricks’ latest performance landed him No. 17 in the nation according to dyestate.com. The mark sets a new record in the state of Mississippi from an indoor standpoint. According to OHS coach Scott Kendricks, the competition came to an exciting climax when Sam cleared the 15-6 attempt and another vaulter, Nikita Kirillov failed to clear the height.
