Tuesday was kind of a back-to-business day for the Ole Miss Diamond Rebels.

Two days after completing a three-game sweep of the Horizon League’s Wright State Raiders, Ole Miss earned a 4-2 victory over the Memphis Tigers at Oxford-University Stadium. (February 23, 2011, Page 6)

Ole Miss OF Kirksey puts Friday behind him

It’s safe to assume that Zach Kirksey had a better day on Tuesday than in his Rebel debut on Friday.
While Kirksey, a transfer from LSU-Eunice, didn’t play poorly at the plate on Friday — he was 1-for-2 with two runs scored and an RBI — it was his play in the field that left a lingering impression. (more…) (February 23, 2011, Page 6)

Warren’s career night not enough to lift Rebs to win over Gamecocks

Darrin Horn has had to play many roles during South Carolina’s month of struggles. On Tuesday night, he got to play the one he enjoys most — winning coach.

Sam Muldrow had 23 points, including the go-ahead 3-pointer with 1:02 left, as the Gamecocks ended a five-game losing streak with a 79-73 victory over Ole Miss. The win brought smiles and high-fives out of his players, something Horn hadn’t seen in a while. (February 23, 2011, Page 6)

Rebels show resilience in sweep of Wright State

The Ole Miss Diamond Rebels had their fair share of hiccups this weekend.

What stood out and left a lasting impression, however, was the Rebels’ ability to recover quickly en route to a three-game sweep of Wright State at Oxford-University Stadium.

On Sunday, the Rebels were able to withstand a late-inning rally for the second straight game to claim a 6-5 victory. (February 21, 2011, Page 6)

                Rebs survive early errors

Ole Miss got its season off to a bit of a rough start on Friday, surrendering three runs in the top of the first inning thanks in large part to two errors in the outfield. A strong start to the second half for the Lafayette Lady Commodores basketball team wasn’t enough to overcome a sluggish first half Friday night, as the Lady ‘Dores were defeated by New Albany, 49-35, in semifinal action at the Class 4A North Half playoff tournament.
