No surprise: Rebs named to NCAA Tournament

The Ole Miss men’s golf program has gotten to the point where the squad doesn’t get excited when it merely hears “Ole Miss” called over the NCAA Tournament teleconference.

On Monday, the team, gathered at head coach Ernest Ross’ house, listened on as the Rebels were announced as the eight seed in the Virginia Tech Region, played at the Pete Dye River Course at Radford, Va.

There were no overt celebrations or cheers, just a few fist pumps and smiles were all that was needed from the Rebels, who have now made five consecutive tournaments. (May 10, 2011, Page 7)
