Nick Hollis and Neil Chandler combined for seven goals to lift the Under-12 Galaxy past the Tornados 9-5 in Oxford Park Commision youth soccer action Monday night. In the other U-12 boys game, Cole Calhoon netted all five of the Earthquake’s goals in a 5-0 victory over the Wizards. In the U-12 girls division, United tied the Crew 1-1 and the Tornados defeated the Galaxy 2-1.
In the U-10 boys division the Tornados wrapped up the Sounders 4-3 and the Wizards topped the Crew 3-2.

Led by Jarkel Joiner’s 25 points, the 11-12 year-old Grizzlies defeated the Lakers 34-31 in the Oxford Park Commission’s Shootout Championship.
In the other action from final stages of the Championship, the Suns beat the Celtics 44-18 in the other 11-12 game. In the 7-8 league, the Lakers edged the Bulls 21-20, while the Jazz downed the Thunder 20-15. In the 9-10 league, the Heat beat the Lakers 19-11, while the Mavericks topped the Thunder 30-23. The Oxford Park Commission’s soccer league got off to a big start on Monday as three goals by Cole Calhoon and two by Keaton Calhoon helped lift the Under-12 boy’s Tornados top the Earthquakes 6-5. In the other U-12 boys game the Galaxy cruised past the Sounders 9-3. In the U-10 boy’s division, the Wizards and Fire tied 2-2 and United topped the Earthquakes 2-1.

An impressive defensive effort helped lift the 9-10 year-old Lakers to a 19-0 win over the Bulls in the first round of Oxford Park Commission Shootout Championships held Saturday. In the other 9-10 youth basketball game, the Heat beat the Grizzlies 29-16, the Thunder pounded the Suns 34-8, while the Mavericks beat the Celtics 23-12.
In four 7-8 games, the Jazz topped the Heat 19-12, the Thunder defeated the Celtics 20-16, the Bulls edged Suns 10-8, while the Lakers beat Grizzlies 25-15. In the 11-12 league, the Lakers got by the Bulls 31-24, the Celtics edged the Thunder 38-35, while the Grizzlies topped the Heat 34-18. (February 15, 2011, Page 7)
