The Oxford Park Commission’s soccer league got off to a big start on Monday as three goals by Cole Calhoon and two by Keaton Calhoon helped lift the Under-12 boy’s Tornados top the Earthquakes 6-5. In the other U-12 boys game the Galaxy cruised past the Sounders 9-3. In the U-10 boy’s division, the Wizards and Fire tied 2-2 and United topped the Earthquakes 2-1.
In the U-10 girl’s division, United snuck past the Fire 4-3 and the Crew shut out the Galaxy 8-0. In the U-12 girl’s division, the Tornados defeated the Sounders 4-2 and the Galaxy blanked United 4-0. (February 15, 2011, Page 6)
An impressive defensive effort helped lift the 9-10 year-old Lakers to a 19-0 win over the Bulls in the first round of Oxford Park Commission Shootout Championships held Saturday. In the other 9-10 youth basketball game, the Heat beat the Grizzlies 29-16, the Thunder pounded the Suns 34-8, while the Mavericks beat the Celtics 23-12.
In four 7-8 games, the Jazz topped the Heat 19-12, the Thunder defeated the Celtics 20-16, the Bulls edged Suns 10-8, while the Lakers beat Grizzlies 25-15. In the 11-12 league, the Lakers got by the Bulls 31-24, the Celtics edged the Thunder 38-35, while the Grizzlies topped the Heat 34-18. (February 15, 2011, Page 7)

Led by 17 points from Keke Burt and 14 points from Stone Threlkeld, the 13-15 year-old Celtics claimed their league’s championship with a 62-27 victory over the Grizzlies on Friday. In the other 13-15 games, the Grizzlies topped the Lakers 41-35 and the Celtics nipped the Heat 57-55 to set up the championship game. In the the lone 7-8 game on Monday, the Bulls topped the Celtics 14-8. In the 9-10 league the Celtics defeated the Bulls 18-2, and the Grizzlies knocked off the heat 16-12.

In the 9-10 league, the Mavericks nipped the Suns 24-23, the Heat topped the Bulls 17-11, while the Thunder beat the Grizzlies 30-21. In the 11-12 league, the Lakers beat the Heat 39-28, the Thunder topped the Celtics 31-29, while the Suns pounded the Grizzlies 35-21.
