The Country Club of Oxford will be hosting the second annual OPC/Double Decker Golf Tournament on April 29 with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.

Emily Burns and Nicole Wilkin each scored two goals to help lift the Under 12 year-old Galaxy to a 4-0 win over the Tornados and a league championship in Oxford Park Commission youth soccer action. In the other U-12 girls league games, Crew topped the United 1-0. In the U-10 boys league games, the United beat the Fire 3-1, the Wizards tied the Sounders 4-4, the Tornados pounded the Crew 7-2, the Galaxy blanked the Crew 7-0, while the Sounders and Earthquakes tied 2-2.
In the U-12 boys league, the Wizards outlasted the Sounders 8-5, while the Galaxy nipped the Earthquakes 5-4. In the lone U-10 girls game, the United beat the Crew 4-1. (March 31, 2011, Page 7)
Kurre Luber and Shelby Knotts both scored four goals apiece to help lead their respective teams to wins in Oxford Park Commission youth soccer action Monday night at FNC Park. Luber’s four goals came in a 6-1 win for the Under-10 Galaxy over the Earthquakes, while Knott’s four goals came in a 5-2 win for the U-12 Galaxy over Sounders. The Oxford Strikers, an Under 12 DII Challenge Soccer Team, won the March Madness DII Classic Soccer Tournament in Tupelo this past weekend. It was the first tournament victory for the Strikers since the formation of the team in 2007. Oxford won its pool by defeating New Albany 3-1, Amory 4-0 and Columbus 3-0. Nick Hollis and Neil Chandler combined for seven goals to lift the Under-12 Galaxy past the Tornados 9-5 in Oxford Park Commision youth soccer action Monday night. In the other U-12 boys game, Cole Calhoon netted all five of the Earthquake’s goals in a 5-0 victory over the Wizards. In the U-12 girls division, United tied the Crew 1-1 and the Tornados defeated the Galaxy 2-1.
In the U-10 boys division the Tornados wrapped up the Sounders 4-3 and the Wizards topped the Crew 3-2.
