U-10 Braves stayed the course, top Cardinals

Consistent scoring lifted the Under-10 Rayner Eye Clinic Braves to a 9-3 victory over the Buckman Cardinals during Tuesday’s Oxford Park Commission baseball action.
In the other U-10 game, the First National Tigers beat the Tannehill, Carmean & McKenzie, PLLC Cubs 11-5.

In the U-9 league, the Oxford Plastic Surgery Red Sox snuck past the Ligon Oral Surgery Rangers 6-2, and the Davis Logistics Yankees nearly doubled up the Hinton & Hinton Cubs 15-8.

The Old Taylor Antiques Giants in the 11-12 league defeated the Hunter’s Hollow Braves 11-6, and the Oxford Dental Cardinals topped the Smith Building Supply Red Sox 6-4. (May 4, 2011, Page 9)

    Chandler Motors holds off late rally

    Five runs in the bottom of the third inning wasn’t enough to lift Shiloh Creek Land & Timber past Chandler Motor Company in youth softball action at FNC Park Tuesday night.
    Chandler beat Shiloh Creek 10-7 and was the only 9-10 year-old league on the ledger.

    In two games from Monday, Shiloh Creek and Community Trust Bank tied 20-20, while Chandler beat Oxford Power Equipment 12-11. (May 4, 2011, Page 9)

      Skidmore’s no-hitter lifts 11-12 Phillies to victory

      Led by ta dominant no-hitter from Colton Skidmore in which he struck out nine in 3.0 innings, the 11-12 league Smoothie King Phillies defeated the Hunter’s Hollow Braves 8-0 during Monday’s Oxford Park Commission action at FNC Park. (May 3, 2011, Page 7)

        Shibest, Coleman combine for no-hitter

        J.J. Shibest and Hunter Coleman combined to throw a no-hitter to lead the Ligon Oral Surgery Rangers to a 4-3 win over the Holcomb Dunbar Cardinals in the Oxford Park Commission 9-year-old league game. In other games on Thursday night from the OPC at FNC Park, the Oxford Plastic Surgery Red Sox edged the Davis Logistics Yankees 10-9 in the 9-year-old league.

        In the 10-year-old league, the Rainbow Cleaners Rays defeated the Tannehill, Carmean, McKenzie PLLC Cubs 15-6. In the 11-12 league, the Old Taylor Antiques Giants topped the Oxford Dental Cardinals 11-7, while in the 13-15 league, the Oxford Eye Clinic Rangers  doubled up the Mississippi Auto Arms Twins 6-3. (April 29, 2011, Page 7A)

          OPC Giants cruise past Rangers

          Led by four RBIs from Jonathan Masters, the Gilliland Orthodontics Giants defeated the Ligon Oral Surgery Rangers 17-5 in the 9-year-old league on Monday at FNC Park. In the other 9-year-old game, the Oxford Plastic Surgery Red Sox topped the Hinton & Hinton Cubs 17-12. In the 10-year-old league, the First National Bank Tigers edged the Rainbow Cleaners Rays 8-6, while the Rayner Eye Clinic Braves beat the Tannehill, Carmean & McKenzie PLLC Cubs 15-3. In the 11-12 games, the Old Taylor Antiques Giants edged the Bank of Oxford Yankees 7-6, while the Smith Building Supply Red Sox pounded the Hunter’s Hollow Braves 10-1. In two 13-14 games, the Mississippi Auto Arms Twins and Farese Family Dental Brewers played to a 7-7 tie, while the Braves blanked the Rangers 12-0. (April 26, 2011, Page 7)

            Big inning propels U-10 Tigers to win

            A 10-run second inning was too much for the Rayner Eye Clinic Braves to overcome on Tuesday, as the 10-year-old Oxford Park Commission Bravos lost to the First National Bank Tigers 12-7.

              11-12 OPC Yankees start year off right

              The Bank of Oxford Yankees of the Oxford Park Commission’s 11-12 year-old league got their season off to a quick start on Monday, cruising past the Hunters’ Hollow Braves 13-1.

                    The Country Club of Oxford will be hosting the second annual OPC/Double Decker Golf Tournament on April 29 with an 8 a.m. shotgun start.
