    Kirksey leads Rebels past Austin Peay

    The story line for most of the early baseball season has been Ole Miss’ ability to find ways to win and Tuesday was no different as a Zach Kirksey sacrifice fly in the 10th inning lifted the No. 28 Rebels to a 5-4 victory over Austin Peay at Oxford-University Stadium.

    Ole Miss trailed for the bulk of the game and after a two-run fourth put the Governors ahead 3-1, Ole Miss remained behind until an RBI-single from freshman Austin Anderson in the eighth inning tied the game 4-4 and eventually sent it into extra innings. (more…) (March 2, 2011, Page 6)

      OM pitchers Wahl, Hively land on disabled list

      Ole Miss’ disabled list continues to grow.

        Rebel tennis tames Memphis Tigers

        The Ole Miss men’s tennis team has been looking forward to the start of Southeastern Conference play for awhile, but first they had to take care of business against a much improved Memphis team.  The Rebels did just that, shutting out the Tigers 4-0 Tuesday at the Palmer/Salloum Tennis Center.           Melson, McFarland recognized by SEC

          Ole Miss senior Kayla Melson was named Second Team All-Southeastern Confernece and Valencia McFarland earned a spot on the conference’s All-Freshman team it was announced by the league on Tuesday. (more…) (March 1, 2011, Page 9)

                  Ole Miss gets offensive to take series from Houston

                  The Ole Miss offense pounded out 17 hits to give great run support to the pitching staff and help grab a series win on the road with an 8-3 win over Houston Sunday on Cougar Field. The Rebels (7-1 overall) beat Houston 4-2 on Friday and rebounded from an 8-2 loss on Saturday.

                  Tanner Mathis led the Rebels with a 4-for-4 day, while Matt Snyder went 3-for-5 and Zach Kirksey went 3-for-4, including a two-run home run from Kirksey that helped propel Ole Miss to the win. (February 28, 2011, Page 7)

                    Ole Miss wins tourney finale

                    Lindsey Perry gave up two runs and struck out six over 4.1 innings as the Ole Miss softball team earned a 4-2 win over Southeast Missouri State to close out the 2011 Red and Blue Classic on Sunday at the Ole Miss Softball Complex. (more…) (February 28, 2011, Page 8)
