Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament staying put in Hoover

The Southeastern Conference Baseball Tournament won’t be leaving Hoover, Ala., anytime soon.

On Thursday the conference announced that it has reached an agreement with the Alabama Sports Foundation and the city of Hoover that will keep the tournament locked in to Regions Park until 2016. (more…) (May 20, 2011, Page 6A)

      Ole Miss golfers underway at NCAA East Regional

      The Ole Miss men’s golf team opened play in the NCAA East Regional on  Thursday at the Pete Dye River Course with sophomore Chad Bounds shooting a 74 to lead the Rebels.

          Smith plays well in return for Rebs

          Ole Miss got off to a slow start on Tuesday before piling on six runs in two innings en route to a 10-6 victory over the Southeast Missouri Redhawks at Oxford-University Stadium.

              Jones, Jackson dismissed from football team

              A brush with the Oxford Police Department cost two Ole Miss players their spot on the team on Monday. Ole Miss football coach Houston Nutt released rising sophomore linebacker Clarence Jackson and rising sophomore defensive end Delvin Jones from the roster after the two were charged with public drunkenness last Friday.
