Rebels get tricky in loss

Ole Miss pulled out all of the stops on Saturday against the Georgia Bulldogs and successfully executed all three trick plays.

      SEC announces addition of Aggies

      BIRMINGHAM, Ala.—The Southeastern Conference Presidents and Chancellors, acting unanimously, announced Sunday that Texas A&M University will join the Southeastern Conference effective July 1, 2012, with competition to begin in all sports for the 2012-13 academic year.           BLOG: Lafayette’s 22nd consecutive win tonight came as no surprise.

            Former OM recruit excited to play in Oxford

            One former Rebel recruit will get a chance to play at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium after all.

            On Saturday, Marlon Brown will jog out of the visitor’s tunnel and on to Jerry Hollingsworth Field as a member of the Georgia Bulldogs.

            As a four-star receiver at Harding Academy in Memphis, Brown was considered the state’s top recruit for the 2009 signing class and when it came down to choosing where he’d play college ball, Brown selected Georgia over other finalists Ohio State, Tennessee and Ole Miss. (September 23, 2011, Page 6A)

              OMS Chargers whack Warriors

              SENATOBIA — A clean sweep. That’s what the Oxford seventh- and eighth-grade football teams earned Thursday with wins over Senatobia.

              The seventh-grade Chargers started the doubleheader with a 30-14 win, while the eighth-grade Chargers won the nightcap 34-8. (September 23, 2011, Page 7A)

                SEC unveils TV schedule for women’s hoops

                The Southeastern Conference unveiled the 2012 women’s basketball television schedule on Thursday, with Ole Miss scheduled for six games.

                  NWCC passes past Coahoma

                  Led by the passing of quarterback Ryan Mossakowski, the No. 9 Northwest Mississippi Community College Rangers defeated Coahoma 44-21. Mossakowski finished the night 18-for-29 for 339 yards and three touchdowns.

                  Mossakowski also rushed for a touchdown in the Rangers’ first MACJC North Division win of the season that also improved to 3-1 overall. (more…) (September 23, 2011, Page 7A)

                    Diamond Rebs recruiting class ranked 3rd by Collegiate Baseball

                    The Ole Miss baseball program welcomed the highest ranked recruiting class in the program’s history to campus this fall with the most recent influx of talent ranked third nationally by Collegiate Baseball, the publication announced on Tuesday.
