A nine-run fifth inning put the finishing touches on a one-sided win for the Lafayette Lady Commodore softball team Saturday at Center Hill. The Lady Commodores beat their region foe 16-1 by scoring 12 runs in the fourth and fifth innings combined. Stormy Robison earned the win for LHS, while Kendall Glass, Corey Hollis, Kelsey Kesler and Katrina Wilson all had multiple hits. Wilson had a double, while Hollis had a triple. Lafayette’s eighth-grade football team earned wins over South Panola and Olive Branch Thursday night.
Eli Murphree shined for the Commodores in the 12-6 win over South Panola and the 18-0 win over the Conquistadors.
He scored on a 32-yard run and a 21-yard run in the win over the Tigers and then scored three touchdowns on runs covering 10-, 40-, and 1-yards in the win over OBHS.
