LHS tennis rolls over Lewisburg

    Gibbs’ big hit leads OHS past Lafayette

      OMS Chargers grab sole possesion of first place

        Pate honored

        Lafayette senior powerlifter M.C. Pate was named to the Second Team Elite Eleven late last month. Pate was an integral part in the Lafayette Lady Commodores’ North Half victory and is one of two girls in the state that were honored from the 97-pound weight class. (more…) (April 1, 2011, Page 8A)

          Mills off to good start

          Former Lafayette High standout Jake Mills is off to a solid start as a member of the Millsaps baseball team. Mills is currently hitting .288 with one home run and 16 RBIs in 80 plate appearances currently for the Majors, who are 19-9 overall this year and ranked No. 23 in the American Baseball Coaches Association Top 25.               Practice leads to one-sided win for LHS

              The Lafayette baseball team proved on Friday night that good practices can be parlayed into big-time games.

              Led by right-hander Cody Grey on the mound, Lafayette run-ruled Senatobia 11-1 in five innings at W.V. Brewer Field. (March 28, 2011, Page 2B)

                  Former Lady ‘Dore helps lift NWCC to wins

                  Former Lafayette High standout Stormy Robison helped lift Northwest Mississippi Community College to two wins over Holmes in women’s softball action Wednesday and a split with Northeast on Thursday. Robison, last season’s EAGLE Player of the Year, picked up a two-run single in the Lady Rangers’ 8-0 win over Holmes in the first game of Wednesday’s doubleheader as well as two runs scored.                     LHS tennis sweeps Center Hill

                    Lafayette tennis’ most complete effort of the season resulted in its most impressive tennis win to date Thursday against Center Hill at the Oxford-University Stadium courts.
