Lewisburg grabs early lead, late runs in win
Lewisburg’s fast start to Tuesday’s Division 2-4A contest with Lafayette ended up becoming an even bigger factor late. Just as Lafayette’s offense seemed to pick up, three errors in the fifth inning allowed the Lady Patriots to garner three more runs and take an even bigger lead on LHS.
The end result was an 8-3 victory for Lewisburg, which was able to get back into the division race with its first win. (March 27, 2013, Page 8)

Pontotoc knocks off Lafayette 5-2
A fantastic effort at boys singles and strong showing at No. 2 girls doubles wasn’t enough to lift the Lafayette Commodores to a win over Pontotoc Tuesday on the courts behind Oxford-University Stadium. Pontotoc defeated Lafayette 5-2 to make the Commodores 4-2 on the year overall.
Lafayette knocks around New Albany
It’s hard to imagine Lafayette could have opened its Division 2-4A schedule any better than it did Tuesday night at W.V. Brewer Field.
Lady Commodores run over New Albany
It took the Lady Commodores a little while to get warmed up Tuesday night. Once Lafayette’s bats got going, however, there was no turning back as the Lady ‘Dores run-ruled New Albany 14-4 to open their division schedule.
