Honor for ‘Preacher’ Lovelady very fitting

Family members are putting together a very fitting tribute to Morris “Preacher” Lovelady, who’s contributed so much to the Lafayette-Oxford-University community through his work on campus, with the summer baseball programs and with Boy Scouts. Inspirational youngster gives hope for the future

Staff writer Melanie Addington says we need to take positives out of the recent story about 16-year-old Abby Sunderland’s attempt to sail around the world rather than heap criticism on her and her parents. It’s hope for the future that makes Sunderland’s story one to read, Addington writes. (June 17, 2010, Page 4)

Alcohol sales an issue in the cyberworld, too

Staff writer Alyssa Schnugg admits it – she’s an online game junkie. What’s she’s recently discovered, too, is that there is an uncanny similarity between the online world she plays in and the real one she lives in since there’s an issue about alcohol sales in both. After taking a look at the issue, she wonders if there might be more democracy in her gaming world. (June 10, 2010, Page 4)
