  • Darra Lynn Christman — 44, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Coleman Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Martin Case officiating. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held for three hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
  • Quitman O. “Bobby” McCord — 78, died Monday, Jan. 17, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home in Oxford, with the Rev. Jimmy Sockwell officiating. Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.

    • Joyce Hill Culver — 81, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at her home in Oxford. Services will be held at 2 this afternoon in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
    • Linda Irene Goodwin — 66, died Friday, Jan. 14, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services were held Sunday at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford, with Bro. Kevin Franklin officiating.
    • James “Buddy” Wesley Hudson — 73, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at his residence. Services will held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Wells Funeral Home in Batesville, with Rusty Robertson officiating. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service.
    • Cora M. Jordan — 69, died Monday, Jan. 10, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at Paris-Yates Chapel on the University of Mississippi campus. Coleman Funeral Home assisted in local arrangements.
    • David Lafargue — 73, died at his home Saturday. Arrangements are incomplete with Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford.
    • Hellene Mize — 76, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at her residence in Tula. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Tula Baptist Church, with the Rev. Jimmy Sockwell and the Rev. Mark Hill officiating. Burial will follow in New El Bethel Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 until 7 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home and for 30 minutes prior to the service at the church.
    • Ura Jane Barlow Parker — 98, died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at her daughter’s home in Belden. Services were held this morning in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home in Oxford, with the Rev. Clay Farr, the Rev. James Richardson and the Rev. Matthew Pharis officiating. Burial followed in the Tula Cemetery.
    • Marilyn Lesa Pegues — 45, died Sunday at her sister’s residence in Oxford. Arrangements are incomplete with Hodges-Freeman Funeral Home in Oxford.
    • Floyd Stewart — 57, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Services will be held at 2 this afternoon at Hope Church, with the Rev. Michael Stewart officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park with military honors. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service at the church. Lee Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
    • Verna Leigh Ellzey Vines — 70, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2011, at Yalobusha General Hospital in Water Valley. Services were held Saturday at Wells Funeral Home Batesville, with the Rev. Jay Anderson officiating. Burial followed in Springdale Cemetery in Oxford.

      MARY ANN FOLSON EALY – 99, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at Graceland Nursing Care in Oxford. Funeral serviceS will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Everdale Baptist Church in Water Valley with the Rev. Larry Hervey, the Rev. Phillip Brackett and the Rev. Timothy Frieson officiating. Interment will be in the Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held at Seven Oaks Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. today.

      ROBERT WHITTEN GRAVES JR. – 52, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, in his Batesville home. Services are scheduled for 2 p.m. this afternoon at the Batesville Presbyterian Church. Visitation will be held before the service. Wells Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

      JENNIFER RENE HAMM SMITH – 26, died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Waller Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford, with the Rev. Tom Marshall officiating. Burial will follow in Clear Creek Cemetery.               • Barry Swain — 59, died Saturday at Tallahatchie General Hospital in Charleston. Arrangements are incomplete with Waller Funeral Home of Oxford.
              • Aubrey W. Walker, 86, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at his home in Oxford. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Waller Funeral Home, with the Rev. Donnie Morgan and the Rev. Charles Lipe officiating. Burial will follow in the Clear Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. A retired power plant operator at the University of Mississippi, he was born in Craighead County, Ark. He was a veteran of World War II where he served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Clear Creek Baptist Church, the O.D. Smith Masonic Lodge. He was also a member of the York Rite and he was a Wahabi Shriner. He was an active member of the Lafayette County Volunteer Fire Department and the Lafayette County Serach and Rescue. Survivors include his wife, Marie F. Walker of Oxford; two daughters, Shirley Mason of Oxford and Rebecca Bennett Grier of Calhoun City; four grandchildren, two step-grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and four step-great-grandchildren. Memorials may be made to the Clear Creek Cemetery Fund, 50 CR 313, Oxford, MS 38655.
