  • Dorothy Lynn Loffer — 85, died Friday, Oct. 1, 2010. Services will be held at 2 this afternoon at the First United Methodist Church in Naples. Burial will follow in Oakridge Cemetery in Marietta, Texas. Harrison Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
  • Bobby Gene Russell — 73, died Saturday, Oct. 2, 2010. Services will be held at 3 this afternoon at Wells Funeral Home Chapel in Batesville. Burial will follow at Forrest Memorial Park with full military honors. Visitation will be held for two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.
  • Emma Louise Turnipseed — 91, died Sunday. Arrangements are incomplete with Waller Funeral Home of Oxford.

    • Elsie Lavenier Brewer Ashford — 89, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, in Greenville. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Water Valley Church of Christ . Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 this evening at Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley.
    • Paul E. James — 78, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at North Oxford Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 until 7 p.m. at Waller Funeral Home, and Monday from 1 until 2 p.m. at the church.
    • Alfreda D. Price-Cannon — 59, died Friday, Sept. 24, 2010. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the New Hope Missionary Baptist Church on Pea Ridge Road. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Repass will follow at the Martin Center on Pea Ridge Road. Visitation will be held until 7 this evening in the chapel at Serenity-Martin Funeral Home in Oxford.
    • James Herman Ragland — 94, died Monday, Sept. 27, 2010. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at the Miles Memorial CME Church in Water Valley. Burial will follow in Oak Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Eddie Robinson and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

      MARY KIMMONS PATTERSON – 94, died Wednesday, Sept. 29, 2010, at Hermitage Gardens in Oxford. Funeral services will be Friday, Oct. 1, 2010 at noon in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with the Rev. Alan Cochet officiating. Burial will follow in St. Peter’s Cemetery.                     BETTIE BUSBY – 71, died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at her daughter’s home in Plantersville. Services were held Monday at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc, with Brother Ricky Pierce and Brother Jed Daniels officiating. Burial followed in the Antioch Baptist Church cemetery.

                    JACOB PRICE JR. – 54, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at his residence in Oxford. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Tallahatchie Oxford Missionary Baptist Association Building with the Rev. Alice Blackmon officiating. Burial will be in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Hodges-Freeman Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

                    WILLIAM TRAVIS “BILLY” RUTLEDGE – 88, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 2010, at his home in Oxford. Services were held at 1 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel in Booneville, with Bro. Bobby Hankins officiating. Burial was to follow in Booneville Cemetery.

                    HATTIE MAE SNEED – 88, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2010, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Union Church of the Nazarene in the Hurricane Community, with the Rev. Joe Morse and the Rev. Cecil Russell officiating. Burial will follow in the Union Nazarene Cemetery.
