Barry O. Freeman — 87, of Laurel died Saturday, July 31, 2010. Services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Laurel. Burial will follow in Indian Springs Cemetery in Jones County. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 this evening at the Memory Chapel Funeral Home of Laurel. (August 3, 2010, Page 2)

    • Leslie Chapman — 38, died Friday at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Arrangements are incomplete with Hodges-Freeman Funeral Home of Oxford.
    • Emma Curry — 76, died Thursday, July 29, 2010. Services will be held at 2 this afternoon at First Presbyterian Church in Oxford. Burial will follow in Hamilton Chapel C.M.E. Church in Waterford. Hodges-Freeman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
    • Paula Roberson Hall — 63, died Friday, July 30, 2010. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Water Valley. Seven Oaks Funeral Home of Water Valley is in charge of arrangements.
    • Samuel William Long — of Teoc died Saturday, July 31, 2010. Services will be held at his home at Longshot Planting Company in Teoc at 3 p.m. Tuesday. Visitation will begin at the family home one hour prior to the service.
    • Lillian Inman Neal — 89, died Saturday, July 31, 2010. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Henry Chapel of the Seven Oaks Funeral Home in Water Valley. Burial will follow in the Bruce Cemetery in Bruce. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
    • Moses Phillips — 82, died at Graceland Care Center in Oxford on Saturday. Arrangements are incomplete with Hodges-Freeman Funeral Home of Oxford.
    • Thomas Redmond — 61, died Sunday in Chicago. Arrangements are incomplete with Hodges-Freeman Funeral Home of Oxford.
    • Clarence “Clay” Thomas Robertson III — 22, of Germantown Tenn., died Friday, July 30, 2010. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Germantown. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 this evening at the church, with the Rosary to follow at 7 p.m. Canale Funeral Directors of Memphis is in charge of arrangements.
    • Mattie Dawkins Shaw — 102, of Coffeeville, died Thursday. Services were held Saturday at the First Baptist Church in Coffeeville. Burial followed in the Pilgrim’s Rest Cemetery. Garner-Harper Funeral Home of Coffeeville was in charge of the arrangements.
    • Jimmy Howard Weeks — 77, died Friday, July 30, 2010. Services will be held at 4 this afternoon at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc. Burial will follow in Loyd Cemetery. Visitation will be held two hours prior to the service at the funeral home.

      • Clarence “Clay” Thomas Robertson III — 22, of Germantown, Tenn.,  died Friday, July 30, 2010, in Oxford. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Germantown. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Germantown, with the Rosary to follow at 7 p.m.

              • James Roy Shumpert — 56, died Monday, July 26, 2010. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the United House of Prayer at Blue Mountain. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Serenity Funeral Home Chapel in New Albany.
