  • Mollie Fairley — 93, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at Westchester Nursing Center in Bronx, N.Y. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Pleasant Hill M.B. Church in Meridian. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Hodges-Freeman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
  • Andrew Mayes — 58, died Thursday, Dec. 9, 2010, at Iowa Hospital and Clinic in Iowa City, Iowa. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at East St. Peters M.B. Church in Abbeville. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Hodges-Freeman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.

    • Pauline “Polly” Harris Bobitt — 87, died Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at Graceland Nursing Home in Oxford. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 11:30 a.m. until the service time at the funeral home Wednesday.
    • Daniel Joseph McCormick — 20, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church. A private family graveside service will follow at Eastover Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 7 this evening at Waller Funeral Home and again one hour prior to the service at the church.

Steve Hentz officiating. Burial will follow in the Oxford Memorial Cemetery, with Bro. Davy Russell officiating at graveside. Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 this evening at Coleman Funeral Home.
      • W.C. Hill, 71, died Saturday at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. Arrangements are incomplete with Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc.
      • Cora Liggins, 67, died Saturday at her cousin’s residence in Abbeville. Arrangements are incomplete with Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, with Father Joe Tonos officiating. Burial will follow in Springdale Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 until 6:30 this evening at the church. A Rosary Service will follow at 6:30. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
      • Annie Mae Key Pegues, 89, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2010, at Swedish Covenant Hospital in Chicago. Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Philadelphia M.B. Church in Oxford, with the Rev. Alfred Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held until 6 this evening at Cooley’s Mortuary.

            • Julius Adams Johnson — 88, died Wednesday, Dec. 8, 2010, at the State Veterans Home in Oxford. A memorial service, following cremation, is planned for Dec. 18 at 1 p.m. at St. Mary’s Episcopal Church in El Dorado, Ark. His ashes will be interred in the columbarium at the church. A reception will follow in the Cloister. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford was in charge of local arrangements.

                  • Lourette Griffin Harrington — 87, died Saturday, Dec. 4, 2010, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Services were held this morning at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church in Woodland. Burial followed in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. Houston Funeral Home of Houston was in charge of arrangements.

                  • Charles Gregory Thomas — 41, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at his home in Fairhope, Ala. A Celebration of Life was held Sunday at All Saints Episcopal Church in Grenada, followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. An additional memorial service was held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Daphne, Ala., this morning. Garner-Harper Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

                    • Charles Gregory Thomas — 41, died Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at his home in Fairhope, Ala. A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 this afternoon at All Saints Episcopal Church in Grenada, followed by burial at Woodlawn Cemetery.  Visitation will precede the service from 1:30 to 3 at the church. An additional memorial service will be held at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Daphne, Ala., on Monday at 11 a.m. with visitation beginning at 10 before the service. Garner-Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
