Taxi bus injures three UM students this weekend

        Big Event still looking for community projects

        Organizers of this year’s UM Big Event are seeking more projects from those who live in Oxford and Lafayette County. More than 2,000 students are signed up to help mow lawns, paint fences, pull weeds, pick up trash and any other project that’s up for grabs come March 31.           ‘Viktor and I’ to be screened at UM

          The “Viktor and I” documentary will be he screened on Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Brevard Hall at UM along with a Q&A with the film’s director and producer. The film is about the life of Viktor Frankl, a well known psychologist. (February 20, 2012, Page 3a)

                UM officials cracking down on illegal downloads

                The number of illegal downloads is increasing at Ole Miss so IT is cracking down by shutting access to the network by IP address and even turning students over to the Dean of Students for repeat offense. (February 3, 2012, Page 1a, 5a)

                  DIY projects needed for Big Event

                  The University of Mississippi Big Event committee is looking for projects from the community as a way for students to say “thank you” to Oxford and Lafayette County for allowing them to call the LOU community their home for a few years. Ideas can be submitted by picking up applications at the Student Union, Room 402, area churches, or at  City Hall or by emailing at bigevent@olemiss.edu. (December 22, 2011, Page 1)

                    Gingerbread displays a sweet Christmas treat

                    Free holiday exhibit at the Gertrude Ford Center at Ole Miss makes features eight edible gingerbread — or chocolate — homes or villages. There’s no cost to see the exhibit but organizers ask visitors to bring canned food to be given to The Pantry. Santa will be available for photos from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday. (December 9, 2011, Page 1A)
