Bank robber suspect nabbed
Officers from several local law enforcement agencies responded to the Mississippi Federal Credit Union Bank on West Jackson Avenue on Wednesday to offer assistant to the Oxford Police Department in its pursuit of an alleged bank robber that resulted in the arrest of a Marks man. Storm damage reported
Heavy rains, high winds and lots of cloud-to-ground lightning wrecked havoc on some parts of Oxford Saturday afternoon. University High School 2010 grand reunion
This weekend is the seventh grand reunion for the Oxford kids who attended University High School. This includes the classes from 1930 to 1967 who attended high school in the building built in 1929 on University Avenue just before you reach the Hilgard Cut on the University of Mississippi campus. In hopes to give entrepreneurs a place to go to gain support, knowledge and to do some networking, local business owners are teaming up with the Economic Development Foundation, the Mississippi Technology Alliance and FNC Inc. to form the Lafayette-Oxford-University Alliance. The Mississippi Coalition Against Domestic Violence will hold its regional Domestic Violence Shelter Programs Training Institute for member shelter programs in northern Mississippi in Oxford this weekend.
