DIY projects needed for Big Event

The University of Mississippi Big Event committee is looking for projects from the community as a way for students to say “thank you” to Oxford and Lafayette County for allowing them to call the LOU community their home for a few years. Gingerbread displays a sweet Christmas treat

Free holiday exhibit at the Gertrude Ford Center at Ole Miss makes features eight edible gingerbread — or chocolate — homes or villages. There’s no cost to see the exhibit but organizers ask visitors to bring canned food to be given to The Pantry. Santa will be available for photos from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday. Cops: Drop off drugs with us

The University of Mississippi will be participating in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day this weekend. Students and all area residents are asked to bring unused, left-over and expired prescription drugs to the Student Union from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. so they can be disposed of safely. Drugs should not be flushed down a toilet or tossed into the household garbage. (October 28, 2011, Page 1A)
