Update BluePrint Mississippi initiative unveiled

Former UM Chancellor Robert Khayat will help lead a new initiative to give Mississippians more opportunities. A meeting will be held in Oxford to get public feedback on issues of educational achievement, resource management, a competing economy and commercializing technology.     OHS to stage ‘Antigone’

              Breaking News: Monday -Tuesday cancellations

              Lafayette and Oxford School District announced it will be closed Tuesday due to weather as did University of Mississippi. A decision will be made on Wednesday at a later time. Regents of Oxford will also be closed.

                **UPDATE* Governor says election still on

                Governor Haley Barbour has ordered the January 11, 2011 Special Election to proceed as scheduled.

                “With inclement weather conditions lingering for voters in the northern parts of the State, we understand circumstances are not ideal for casting a ballot,” says Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann. “We want to encourage voters to exercise caution to ensure safety when heading to the polls.”
