End of road for colonel?
Colonel Reb’s days could be numbered as he is set to enter the College Vault Program this August. The College Licensing Company, the agent for the University of Mississippi’s licensing issues, released a memo this week to all licensees that the image of the Colonel may only be licensed through August 31. After that, he enters the College Vault Program where the image can only be licensed out for special occasions for historical use. (March 12, 2010, Page 1A)

Autry indicted for murder
The grand jury handed down its February indictments that included Bilethon Autry, who was indicted for murder after allegedly shooting and killing his brother in September during a three-hour stand-off in Grand Oaks with local police. Fire marshals with the state of Mississippi and Oxford Fire Department have ruled the fire that ravaged the former popular night spot The Gin over the weekend was suspicious in nature — although there’s not enough evidence to rule it arson. (March 11, 2010, Page 2A)

Rains cause flash floods
The city is looking to alleviate flooding problems after severe rains on Wednesday night brought water into city homes and apartments. Laurel Grove Apartments and homes on Chandler Avenue both saw debris buildup and flooding in their yards and homes. (March 11, 2010, Page 1A)
