City begins Vision 2040 process

    Donor offers to help fund IPF

    Thanks to an unnamed donor, FNC Fields may soon have what Aldermen E.O. Oliver described as it’s own “little IPF.”
    Brad Freeman, with the Oxford Park Commission, presented very preliminary plans to the Board of Aldermen for a new Indoor Practice Facility at FNC. However, that can only be accomplished if the aldermen and Lafayette County Board of Supervisors agree to the terms of an unnamed donor who has pledged $150,000 toward the new facility. (May 2, 2012, Page 1, 8)

      City, county to discuss new hospital

          Speed hump policy tabled

          The Oxford Board of Aldermen tabled a vote Tuesday to approve a new policy that would allow neighborhoods to apply for speed humps to give the Oxford Pathways Commission time to clean up and improve the draft.             Speed humps still on the table

            The Oxford Board of Aldermen advised the city engineer Tuesday to tweak a 2007 policy on allowing neighborhoods to request speed humps and include adding suggestions from board members and other city officials, including adding the Oxford Pathways Commission as the lead agency to determine priority.                     Transit budget, bus services expand

                    The Oxford Board of Alderman voted to increase its share of the Oxford-University Transit budget by $40,000 for the 2012-13 fiscal year. The increase is partly due to two new routes and the building of a new bus depot on McElroy Drive.
