Paid parking meeting planned

As the city moves forward with implementing a paid parking system, city officials want the public to understand it’s not about making money but to manage parking. At 5 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall, the Board of Aldermen will be holding a public hearing to allow Standard Parking to present its recommendations, show off the equipment proposed to be used for the paid parking system and answer questions from the public. City offers summer jobs to youths

The city of Oxford, through a grant by the Mississippi Department of Transportation, will be hiring more than 20 area youths, from 16 to 25 to work for the city for 10 weeks this summer doing mostly outdoor work. City begins Vision 2040 process

Donor offers to help fund IPF

Thanks to an unnamed donor, FNC Fields may soon have what Aldermen E.O. Oliver described as it’s own “little IPF.”
Brad Freeman, with the Oxford Park Commission, presented very preliminary plans to the Board of Aldermen for a new Indoor Practice Facility at FNC. However, that can only be accomplished if the aldermen and Lafayette County Board of Supervisors agree to the terms of an unnamed donor who has pledged $150,000 toward the new facility. City, county to discuss new hospital
