    OIS Students named to All-State Choir

    Oxford Intermediate School fifth-graders Emery Kate Schneider, Anna Walker and Mary Katherine Wilkinson’s love and talent for singing earned them three of the 171 spots available in the 2015 Mississippi All-State Honor Choir on March 22. (April 5, 2015, Page 4C)

      OSDF exceeds goal for O-bolt license tags

      Thanks to the hard work of the Oxford School District Foundation, Oxonians will likely see many cars riding around town representing the district with O-bolt tags.

      The OSDF recently announced that the goal of selling 300 car tags was exceeded, which means that the state will begin producing the OSD tags and Oxford residents can purchase them at the Chancery Building as early as July. (April 2, 2015, Page 12)

          Local schools work to keep absenteeism rates low

            OSD changes registration policy

            The Oxford School Board announced at Monday’s meeting a change to their registration policy that will require parents to verify their children live within the district every year. The board also voted to ask the Mississippi Department of Education to waive two of four snow days accumulated during the inclement weather over the past two months. (March 24, 2015, Page 1)

                  DDES raises $38,000 toward playground renovations

                  When the Della Davidson Elementary School Parent Teacher Organization voiced the need to raise $30,000 to update their playground, the Oxford community stepped up to the plate and more by exceeding the goal and raising nearly $38,000. (March 8, 2015, Page C4)
