Local police made 75 arrests this weekend after the population of Oxford doubled when the Rebels played the University of Texas. One of the arrests was that of a former Ole Miss student who was tackled by officers when he ran onto the field during halftime in his boxers, at one point mooning the crowd. Father jailed in son’s death
A Water Valley man is in prison for allegedly shooting and killing his son, according to jail records. Michael L. Washington is being held on a $125,000. His son, Joshua, 36, was shot to death Saturday night. (August 21, 2012, Page 2)
Man charged in Taylor road death
George Serrico Williams, 42, was charged with manslaughter by culpable negligence in the death of his cousin, Jeffrey O’Neal Booker, 27, of Taylor who was found dead on Old Taylor Road last week. Water Valley Police are also looking to close the against in the death of Timothy “Tim-Tim” O’Neal, who was found dead Aug. 6 on Highway 7 in Water Valley, also hit by a car.
