BamaJam re-loads, returns to Enterprise, Ala.

OXFORD TOWN – Hard to mess up this post and photograph, huh? The 2012 BamaJam is set to re-load in Enterprise, Ala. (just outside of Dothan and south of Montgomery, Ala.) beginning June 14 and will feature several hard-hitting headliners as well as 46 other country and rock acts — all set to jam at the popular three-day event. Lies and Other Truths: Jim Dees remembers Levon

OXFORD TOWN – Oxford Town columnist Jim Dees pays a moving tribute to the late Levon Helm – from his days with the Hawks to his migration to The Band to his casual solo career in a live setting in his “studio/barn” to his untimely death (losing a battle to cancer last month). Mavis Staples honored him at Oxford’s Double Decker Festival two weekends ago, and Dees takes the reins this week, remembering the great musician. Megan Reilly set for a graduation night show at Two Stick

OXFORD TOWN – Memphis native Megan Reilly heads to Two Stick Sushi Bar for a show on graduation night (Saturday, May 12) with her long-time band in tow featuring Ian Hunter’s lead guitarist James Mastro. YAC’s Taylorpalooza re-loads this Saturday

OXFORD TOWN – YAC’s annual family picnic and membership drive, Taylorpalooza, cranks up this Saturday in the Plein Air Neighborhood in Taylor. Musical entertainment will include Love Cannon and The Okratones. The fun begins at 5 p.m. and will last until 8. Hinge Dance Company returns to the Powerhouse

OXFORD TOWN – Hinge Dance Company presents a night of dance, art and music for three nights at the Powerhouse — Thursday, April 19, through Saturday, April 21. The event is titled “Down Home Transit” and all three performances begin at 7:30. General admission seating is $10 in advance and $12 at the door.
