‘Charlotte’s Web’ set for Ford Center this Saturday

OXFORD TOWN – The delightful tale of a lucky pig and a kind spider, “Charlotte’s Web,” comes to life Feb. 12 at 3 p.m. at the University of Mississippi’s Gertrude C. Emerson String Quartet set for Ford Center on Friday

OXFORD TOWN – The Emerson String Quartet (pictured), one of the most highly regarded quartets in the world, is slated to perform Friday, Jan. 21 at the University of Mississippi’s Gertrude G. Castellow Ford Center for the Performing Arts. Urban Bush Women to inspire Oxford

OXFORD TOWN – Urban Bush Women, a contemporary dance company, is slated to perform Jan. 17 at the University of Mississippi’s Gertrude C. Ford Center for the Performing Arts. In addition to the performance on Monday, the company will be conducting free workshops in different areas of the community and a community Pot-luck Dinner will be held at 6 p.m. at The Powerhouse. Levingston, Storr to perform at Nutt Auditorium

OXFORD TOWN – Words and music between a world-class pianist and a renowned artist come together in a lively discussion next Wednesday. The University of Mississippi Museum presents “An Evening with Bruce Levingston and Robert Storr” at 7 p.m. on Jan. 19 at Nutt Auditorium. YAC swings in the New Year this Friday

OXFORD TOWN – A jam-packed new year of programming sponsored by the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council kicks off Friday, Jan. 7, with a Swing Dance Contest at the Powerhouse. Profits from the fundraiser goes toward improvements at YAC headquarters, specifically for a new dance floor.
