Theatre Oxford’s 10 Minute Plays announce 2012 winners

OXFORD TOWN – The staged readings of the top five finalists from Theatre Oxford’s 2012 National 10 Minute Play Contest were held Tuesday, May 8, at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center to determine the grand prize winner of the LW Thomas Award. The top five finalists were performed by five local actors; Jennifer Mathus (pictured here) Meaghin Burke, Greg Earnest, Michael Ewing and Dane Moreton. YAC’s Taylorpalooza re-loads this Saturday

OXFORD TOWN – YAC’s annual family picnic and membership drive, Taylorpalooza, cranks up this Saturday in the Plein Air Neighborhood in Taylor. Musical entertainment will include Love Cannon and The Okratones. The fun begins at 5 p.m. and will last until 8. Hinge Dance Company returns to the Powerhouse

OXFORD TOWN – Hinge Dance Company presents a night of dance, art and music for three nights at the Powerhouse — Thursday, April 19, through Saturday, April 21. The event is titled “Down Home Transit” and all three performances begin at 7:30. General admission seating is $10 in advance and $12 at the door. Pride of the South Band hosts fundraising concert at the Ford Center

OXFORD TOWN – The Pride of the South Marching Band featuring the UM Wind Ensemble is hosting a concert fundraiser on April 24, at 7:30 p.m. at the Ford Center. Admission is free but donations will be accepted as this is a major fundraiser for the hardest working band in the south. Oxford Passion Play this weekend

The Oxford Passion Play, in its second year at North Oxford Baptist Church, will have six show times this year to give everyone who wants to see the free show the ability to come and enjoy it. Admission is free but the church asks people to get tickets so they have an idea of how many seats are available.
