It’s a wrap. Now things get interesting.

OXFORD TOWN – After three months of pre-production work and three weeks of filming, “Where I Begin” moves to the editing phase Friday. This is where things get really interesting. Right now, there is all this footable but now how it is pieced together, how sound is synched up and what music and underscore is chosen is what can make or break the film. (August 30, 2010, Page 14)

    Film maker chooses Oxford for independent film backdrop

    With the first act to his new independent movie finished, filmmaker Thomas L. Phillips found himself needing some fresh ideas to complete the script. In May, he called Melanie Addington, whom he had met two years ago at the Memphis International Film Festival, and asked her to help finish writing the script.

    Cast and crew have been shooting for the last three weeks in and around Oxford and expect to wrap up this weekend. (August 27, 2010, Page 1B)

      Local actress hooked on movie-making

      As a long-time Oxford resident, 29 years and counting, I have become accustomed to celebrity sightings and the filming of movies in and around our community. This time, however, I am personally involved with an outstanding local film, “Where I Begin.” (August 27, 2010, Page 1B)

        Colour Revolt rocks Proud Larry’s tonight

        OXFORD TOWN – The local band Colour Revolt (sporting band new band members)  is making a splash around the country and they’re headed back to Oxford via Proud Larry’s tonight (Thursday, Aug. 26) in support of their new album “The Cradle.” Kate Anthony’s coverage of one of Oxford’s most successful duos and their new band members can be found on Page 11 of this week’s issue of Oxford Town. (August 26, 2010, Page 11)

                  ‘Where I Begin’ production well under way

                  OXFORD TOWN — About a third of the way into the production of “Where I Begin,” it struck all of us that what we had on this set is something rre. There are no fights, no drama, no divas, no one being lazy or not knowing exactly what to do. Everyone just does everything they can to make this movie a success. (August 19, 2010, Page 20)

                    Citizen Architect: Samuel Mockbee screening

                    OXFORD TOWN — “Citizen Architect: Samuel Mockbee and the Spirit of the Rural Studio will screen on Tuesday, Aug. 17 at the Lyric Theater in Oxford at 8 p.m. The documentary takes a look at late architect Samuel Mockbee’s radical design program known as the Rural Studio. (August 12, 2010, Page 5)
