Grace Potter, Flaming Lips set for record breaking show at the Lyric Theater
OXFORD TOWN – The Flaming Lips will rock Oxford during their Highway 61 tour as part of the Guiness World Records title for the most live concerts in 24 hours. Grace Potter (pictured) & The Nocturnals will open the show at the Lyric Theater on June 27. Author Richard Ford set for visit to Off Square Books
OXFORD TOWN – On June 11 at 5 p.m., UM professor and Pulitzer Prize winning author Richard Ford will visit Off Square Books to sign copies of his latest work, “Canada.” Page 5 in Oxford Town No. 982 has a review of Ford’s “Canada” by new Oxford Town writer and intern Kayleigh Skinner. Catch OHS graduate and Ole Miss DJ/musician Silas Reed (pictured)) ‘N’ Da Books this Sunday evening (June 10) as the popular local funk band continues June’s Summer Sunset Series in the Grove. The family-friendly, free concerts begin at 7 and end (approximately) as the sun sets on the most famous and beautiful patch of green in the South — The Grove on the Ole Miss campus. Joseph Arthur rocks Proud Larry’s Saturday, June 2
The Akron, Ohio, native, Joseph Arthur (pictured), has dug deeply into the lyrical world and is bringing his vast catalog of songs to Oxford for a show at Proud Larry’s on Saturday (June 2). Doors open at 8 p.m and Arthur is scheduled to take the stage at 9:45. Tickets for the show are $12 and are being sold online at proudlarrys.com.
