Breaking news, breaking down to screen Monday
OXFORD TOWN – For the people who tell the stories of other’s tragedies for the world to understand, we often forget that their own experiences of those events are as telling, if not more. While a journalist is trained to remain detached and record the events, in the midst of catastrophe, there are sights and experiences that alter you.Horse Trailer rolls into town

Spring of our Discontent
LIES AND OTHER TRUTHS – A helpful suggestion for the contentment impaired might be no further than their own backyards (speaking of course of the backyard fire). Hot Tub Time Machine takes us back
OXFORD TOWN – There is something to be said for a film that knows not to take itself or its story too seriously. “Hot Tub Time Machine” is one of those films and takes us back in time with fun 80s movie clichés blended with a time travel story. Thanks to the homage to 80s films, it is hard not to go back to the theater at least twice with friends to see this film, maybe break into song, and to try and catch what you may have missed the first time. Souped-up Zipcar, iPod and a feeling of superiority

OXFORD TOWN – On the road to Washington, D.C., Oxford Town columnist Alexander McAdams and her friend Willow amp up their Mazda “Zipcar” with their iPod, which sets them on the road to reminiscence. Music indeed matters in that state of mind and lyrics become all-important as the girls ponder these: “I can’t tell you what I learned in school, but I could tell a story or two.” (March 18, 2010, Page 8)
Surf’s Down; Hook, line and stinker
LIES AND OTHER TRUTHS — Jim
Dees and his buddies Truck and Key Zanzibar decided the best way to spend one of the last nice days of summer last year was to visit Sardis lake for some serious fishing and fun … mostly fun. What started as an innocent day of fishing quickly turned into a fiasco with an audience after too many beers and too few sets of clothing that the boys somehow managed to shed. Check out Dees’ weekly recollection of this bizarre fishing trip and decide for yourself: Lie or Truth. Who knows? (March 18, 2010, Page 7)
