Honey Bee Bakery to host Mike Stanton Photo exhibit

OXFORD TOWN – The Honey Bee Bakery located in Oxford Galleria is the place to be Saturday evening, Aug. 28, for the premiere of freelance photographer Mike Stanton’s evocative works in print. Page 9 in this week’s issue of Oxford Town has Kenneth Jones’ coverage of Stanton’s first exhibit. The evening will feature entertainment by Horse Trailer frontman Taylor Hildebrand. (August 30, 2010, Page 9)

    It’s a wrap. Now things get interesting.

    OXFORD TOWN – After three months of pre-production work and three weeks of filming, “Where I Begin” moves to the editing phase Friday. This is where things get really interesting. Right now, there is all this footable but now how it is pieced together, how sound is synched up and what music and underscore is chosen is what can make or break the film. (August 30, 2010, Page 14)

      Colour Revolt rocks Proud Larry’s tonight

                  Citizen Architect: Samuel Mockbee screening

                  OXFORD TOWN — “Citizen Architect: Samuel Mockbee and the Spirit of the Rural Studio will screen on Tuesday, Aug. 17 at the Lyric Theater in Oxford at 8 p.m. The documentary takes a look at late architect Samuel Mockbee’s radical design program known as the Rural Studio. (August 12, 2010, Page 5)

                    Oxford fuels film production

                    OXFORD TOWN –YAC’s Operations Coordinator Beth Ziegenhorn has her pulse on the community this week and breaks down the upcoming YAC fundraiser to be held at Southside Gallery. The public is invited to join them this Saturday from 7-9 p.m. at the gallery for a reception for the upcoming movie “Where I Begin” which has begun filming in Oxford and the surrounding area.
