Chinese Ceramics displayed at UM Museum

OXFORD TOWN – The University of Mississippi Museum examines ancient Chinese ceramics and the culture of their time with its latest exhibition, “On the Silk Road and the High Seas: Chinese Ceramics, Culture and Commerce,” which will be on display from now through Aug. 4. Coinciding with the exhibition, the museum will host a lecture at 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, featuring Virginia L. Bower (pictured here). Oxford ‘crawls’ to art

OXFORD TOWN – The Oxford Art Crawl begins its 2012 season this Tuesday (Jan. 24). The ongoing event will be held the fourth Tuesday of each month from January through October, lasting from 7-9 p.m. The “crawl” events are free and offer tours of the rotating exhibits at Oxford’s art spaces with small receptions held at each stop. Oxford Music Festival spotlight continues

OXFORD TOWN – OT’s breakdown of Oxford Music Festival 2012 rolls on this week (Issue No. 962) as we spotlight the bands and acts set for Friday, Feb. 10, at the Malco Studio Cinema VIP Tent, Lyric Theater’s Electro Stage and Proud Larry’s on the Oxford Square. This week, our spotlight illuminates one of the most diverse music- and movie-oriented nights that Oxford has seen in quite some time. Featured bands include Silas Reed ’N Da Books, Kelley and The G-Men, Break-beat, The Minor Adjustments (pictured here), The Congress, Proud Larry’s headliner Shooting Out The Lights and others. Oxford Fiber Arts Festival returns

OXFORD TOWN – Oxford’s second Fiber Arts Festival is set to re-launch this weekend at the Powerhouse touting activities fro the whole family. The event is hosted by Knit1 Oxford and the Yoknapatawpha Arts Council. Meagan Tubb and Shady People play free show at Proud Larry’s

OXFORD TOWN – Oxford Town Music Beat reporter Kate Anthony recently researched and interviewed Meagan Tubb (front woman for Meagan Tubb and Shady People) about her band and their upcoming show at Proud Larry’s on Saturday, Jan. 14. Joey Lauren Adams cleans up

OXFORD TOWN – A new webisode starring Oxford’s own Joey Lauren Adams will premiere Jan. 17 and shows the next level of advertising impact in shows. The show features four women actors that become animated after they enter into their super hero storylines fighting disasters with help from Clorox products.
