Music in the Hall teams with Bottletree Bakery

OXFORD TOWN – Hallelujah. Oxford’s favorite unique music experience, Music in the Hall, returns in a big way this week by hosting a Gospel Series show at Bottletree Bakery tonight (Thursday, July 26) at 7:30. Doors open at 7 for the show which will feature Anointed Faith Singers and Soul Consoulators.     Memphis’ River City Tanlines set for two Oxford shows

    OXFORD TOWN – Memphis’ own River City Tanlines, featuring frontwoman Alicja Trout, will host a record release party at Ajax Diner on Friday, July 27. The band is touring in support of its recently released album “Coast To Coast.” Page 7 in Oxford Town No. 989 has information about the band and its new album.       Oxford Blues Festival reloads this weekend

      OXFORD TOWN – The 2012 version of the Oxford Blues Festival reloads this weekend all around Oxford and the Oxford Square. The event kicks off at the University Museum on Friday at 4 and ends at Foxfire Ranch in Marshall County on Sunday featuring some of the hottest blues acts and musicians in the country.         ‘Shut Up and Play the Hits’

        OXFORD TOWN – The late Adam Yauch’s (pictured here) distribution company, Oscilloscope Laboratories, will have a one-night only screening nationwide of  “Shut Up and Play the Hits,” on Wednesday, July 18, with the Lyric Theater set as one of the screening locations.           Flaming Lips, Grace Potter pack the Lyric Wednesday night

          OXFORD TOWN – As you read this, that is if you are reading it on Thursday, June 28, the Guinness World Record is not yet broken as the Flaming Lips’ attempt continues until this evening. But, by Friday, the Lips will have the record for the most live concerts in a 24 hour period and the Lyric Theater was definitely rockin’ the Lips on Wednesday night. Grace Potter (pictured here) and The Nocturnals opened the show for the Flaming Lips with an awesome 90 minute set.
