Pride of the South rises at Ford Center

OXFORD TOWN – A benefit concert for the Pride of the South Marching Band featuring the UM Wind Ensemble and guest drummer Larry Gooch (pictured) is scheduled for Tuesday, May 3, at the Gertrude C. Ford Center. Music is set to begin at 7:30 and admission is free. A reception to meet the student performers will be held for the general public after the concert.     San Francisco’s Tea Leaf Green headed to Proud Larry’s with the Jamie McLean Band

    OXFORD TOWN – The San Francisco rock band Tea Leaf Green is headed to Proud Larry’s next Wednesday (April 27).       The Blind Pig to host Thacker Mountain Radio benefit

        Acclaimed Jazz Trio to perform at Ford Center

          Drew Holcomb & The Neighbors double up

          OXFORD TOWN – Drew Holcomb (pictured with wife Ellie on the cover this week) & The Neighbors join the live broadcast of Thacker Mountain Radio at Off Square Books tonight (April 7) at 6. Later tonight, the band performs at Proud Larry’s with special guest Mockingbird Sun scheduled to open the show. The Nashville quintet is touring in support of its new album, “Chasing Someday,” and are featured on Pages 10 and 15 in this week’s issue of Oxford Town. (April 7, 2011, Page 10, 15)

            Mayhem and Misdirection headed to Oxford

            OXFORD TOWN – In an effort to give back to the L-O-U community, Chick-fil-A is sponsoring what is being billed as the “Family event of the year” this Sunday (April 3) at the Oxford Convention Center.               Goo Goo Dolls set to rock the Grove

              OXFORD TOWN – On Sunday, April 3, the Goo Goo Dolls will headline a free concert sponsored by the Student Programming Board and Department of Campus Programming on the campus of the University of Mississippi. The opening act for the four-time Grammy nominated band from Buffalo, N.Y., will be Drew Holcomb and the Neighbors, a rising rock band from Nashville.
