Thacker Mountain converges on Lyric Theater tonight
OXFORD TOWN – Thacker Mountain Radio will perform a special fundraising show on Thursday, Dec. 8, at 6 p.m. at the Lyric Theater on the Oxford Square. Musician Jimbo Mathus (pictured here) will lead the Thacker Mountain house band, the Yalobushwhackers, and welcome a wide array of Oxford area talent including Silas Reed IV, Bill “Howlin Madd” Perry, Effie Burt, Jake Fussell, Jamie and Rosamond Posey, Casey Lipe, authors Jack Pendarvis and Theresa Starkey, Square Books owner Richard Howorth and TMR host Jim Dees. VOX PRESS returns to the Powerhouse
OXFORD TOWN – VOX PRESS presents “Noises from the Nerve Center Collective,” an evening of experimental music and literature, on Tuesday, Nov. 29, at the Powerhouse Community Arts Center on University Avenue in Oxford. The event is part of a documetary project and is free and open to the public. Yale historian examines Civil War and civil rights at Nutt Auditorium
