Entering the weekend, the No. 22 Rebels made headlines after it was announced that starter R.J. Hively would be available out of the bullpen if needed.

Looking to shake things up after having inconsistent weekends at Georgia and Kentucky in consecutive weekends, the No. 22 Ole Miss Rebels could stray from their normal rotation this weekend when the No. 17 Arkansas Razorbacks come to town for the three-game set beginning tonight. Patience pays off for Ole Miss’ Gatlin

Especially early in the season, John Gatlin could often be seen well after the final out of any particular game was made, jogging out of the Ole Miss dugout, inserting headphones into his ears and jogging from the left field foul pole to the right field foul pole and back.

Lafayette’s 7th-inning rally comes up short

The Lafayette Lady Commodores may have been eliminated from the Class 4A playoffs last Friday, but that didn’t prevent them from showing heart late in Wednesday’s home game against Lewisburg.

Trailing by four runs, the Lady ‘Dores plated two runs in the last frame to get within striking distance before the Lady Patriots were able to close the game out and earn the 6-4 victory. (April 19, 2012, Page 8)

Loyal Ole Miss and college baseball fans may recognize a slew of former Rebels that are appearing more and more on Major League Baseball rosters and post-game highlights.

Oxford shows youth on Senior Night

The Oxford Lady Chargers didn’t wrap up their home slate like they would have liked Monday, falling to Bruce 6-3 on Senior Night.
With the playoffs right around the corner, Oxford’s inability to consistently close out innings without allowing Bruce to score, coupled with the Lady Chargers’ errors in the field and on the base path, bothered head coach Lauren Hill. (April 17, 2012, Page 7)
